15 Celebs Who Recreated one of Their Character’s Looks Years Later and Brought on a Wave of Nostalgia

As well as plot twists and memorable phrases, viewers are often drawn to their favorite film or TV show character’s look. Some even try to replicate the most memorable outfits. It turns out, that celebrities themselves are no strangers to nostalgia, and happily recreate our beloved images, even many years after the release of the film, or show, in question.

Anne Hathaway

In 2022 Anne Hathaway decided to recreate one of her character’s famous looks from The Devil Wears Prada, which was released in 2006. The actress appeared at one of the New York Fashion Week events in a black jumper and brown leather mackintosh. What’s more, during the show, Anne sat in the front row, right next to Anna Wintour.

Tori Spelling and Jennifer Garth

Tori Spelling and Jenny Garth have been friends for over three decades. The girls first met on the set of Beverly Hills, 90210. Even after the project ended, Spelling and Garth kept in touch and consistently supported each other. And in 2020, they decided to recreate a famous shot from the show.

Cassie Steele

Cassie Steele is best known for her role in the Canadian TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation. The actress recently decided to replicate her memorable look from the show for a TikTok video.

Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner

In 2022 Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner met on the set of The Adam Project. But the pair had already starred together in 2004’s 13 Going on 30. 18 years later, they decided to recreate one of the touching moments from that film, which Garner subsequently shared on her Instagram.

Gabrielle Union

Actress and model Gabrielle Union decided to, once again, put on the outfit she wore in Bring It On. This time though, instead of wearing the Clovers uniform with other members of the team, Gabrielle wore it with her daughter Kaavia.

Gwen Stefani

In December 2020, Gwen Stefani released a new song, Let Me Reintroduce Myself, which references the singer’s past work in the lyrics. Stefani has also decided to recreate some of her outfits, which she wore in music videos and on stage in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She shared some of these on Instagram.

Laura Dern

In 1993, Laura Dern appeared in the film Jurassic Park. Although the actress had been in movies before, this blockbuster brought her worldwide fame. Dern’s character wore a shirt, casually tied in a knot at the waist. This touch suggested femininity, but at the same time said that she could handle herself in difficult situations. In 2022, Laura returned to the franchise and starred in Jurassic World Dominion. In this film she recreated the image, paying homage to the original.

Halle Berry

Eighteen years after the release of Die Another Day, Halle Berry once again appeared on the beach in an orange bikini. It was very reminiscent of what the actress wore in one of the famous Bond scenes. The only thing Berry missed was the wide belt that her character Giacinta Johnson wears as she emerges from the waves.

Jennifer Lopez

We recently saw the release of the autobiographical film Halftime, which follows the life and career of Jennifer Lopez.

The actress has since appeared twice in white trouser suits, which are reminiscent of her famous outfit from the film Maid In Manhattan (2002). Though over the past 20 years, Lopez has demonstrated her love of white outfits on more than one occasion.
