The Love Story of Adriano Celentano and Claudia Mori Who Are in Love With Each Other for 58 Years
We know Adriano Celentano as a talented singer and comedic actor. But we know almost nothing about his personal life. While he’s been married to his wife for almost 60 years, she has become his muse and his support.

Adriano Celentano and Claudia Mori met in 1963 while filming the movie A strange type. At the time, Celentano was already a renowned actor and singer who released a few albums and starred in a few movies. While Mori was just an aspiring actress who mainly played in musicals.
Celentano was in a relationship with Milena Cantù, a saleswoman, who he’d met in perfumery in 1958. Even though Adriano was engaged with Milena, he left her and began to give Claudia signs of attention.
But the 20-year-old actress didn’t yield to his charm because she knew that Celentano had a reputation with the ladies. An accident changed everything.
A light bulb burst on set due to Claudia’s mistake, scratching Adriano’s face with a piece of flying glass. The actress hurried to apologize, and Adriano seized the opportunity to invite her for a coffee. She agreed, but she still tried to keep her distance from him because she knew that Celentano was not the type of man she could trust.
When the filming ended, Adriano managed to persuade Claudia to come to his concert by giving her a ticket for the first row. At the show’s end, he performed a romantic ballad, after which he turned personally to Mori and declared his love for her in front of the audience. This moment marked the start of their long and strong relationship which continues to this day.
Claudia and Adriano got married at 3:30 a.m. on July 14, 1964. The private ceremony took place in great secrecy in the church of San Francesco, in Grosseto. The actors had 3 children: Rosita (1965), Giacomo (1966), and Rosalinda (1968).
The following years, the spouses lived happy life, filmed movies together, and released singles. But in the early 1980s, the marriage experienced a period of crisis: the spouses lived apart for a few years. There was a rumor of an alleged relationship between Celentano and Ornella Muti who both starred in the movie The Taming of the Shrew.
This affair remained unconfirmed for decades. Only in 2008, Adriano confessed it himself, “Between me and Claudia there has always been love, we went through a crisis, 20 or maybe 30 years ago, but we are a united family.” The crisis coincided with his relationship with Ornella Muti. “There was a story, photographers were chasing us everywhere,” the actor explained.
Mori and Celentano lived separately until 1985 when the actor invited his wife to play in his movie. During the movie production, their family crisis ended. Years later, Mori confessed that she never considered divorce during the crisis.
Gradually, the actress became Celentano’s support in both life and his artistic path. She became his manager and run the family record company, Clan Celentano. Claudia didn’t want her husband to spend time and energy quarreling with producers and publishers, she wanted him to focus on his creative endeavors only.
Taking into account Celentano’s popularity in Italy, the record-breaking sales of his albums, and full halls at his shows, Claudia has been a great manager for her husband.
In 2014, the couple celebrated their 50th anniversary. And this year, to celebrate 58 years together, Celentano posted a touching video on his Instagram where he declared his eternal love for Claudia. Celentano performed a song and accompanied it with their family photos.
