80-Year-Old Paul McCartney’s Sure That It’s Never Too Late to Find the One and Found Happiness in His Third Marriage

In late autumn 2022, 80-year-old Paul McCartney shared a photo of himself with his wife Nancy Shevell. The couple hardly ever share their photos on social media, so fans were delighted to see a picture of the two together. They noted that the couple look very happy. Here’s the story of how Paul found love with Nancy, with whom he’s been living together for 15 years.

The Beatles star has been popular with women since his youth. Paul had relationships with many women, and they got serious enough for marriage three times. His first and much-loved wife was photographer Linda Eastman, to whom Paul was married from 1969 to 1998, until Linda’s death from breast cancer.

From 2002 to 2008, the musician was officially married to former model Heather Mills. Paul filed a petition for divorce in 2006. In November 2007, McCartney started dating Nancy Shevell. Nancy was a board member of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, as well as vice president of the family transportation conglomerate, which includes New England Motor Freight.

Nancy and Paul met by chance in the town of Hampton, where they both have houses. They quickly bonded, despite there being a 17-year age gap between them. A source close to the couple says they had the right chemistry: “They’re both cool, chilled out and optimistic,” they said, adding that they’re “very positive, laid-back people.”

At the start of their relationship they were also drawn together by a similar lifestyle. “He doesn’t like a big social life; nor does she,” said Shevell’s second cousin, Barbara Walters.

In addition, Shevell turned out to be strikingly similar to McCartney’s first wife Linda, the first true love of the singer’s life. Nancy, like Paul’s first wife, lived on the East Coast of the United States, studying at college in Arizona. Nancy had also successfully battled breast cancer in the mid-90s.

In the early stages, Paul and Nancy didn’t comment on their relationship, although their mutual affection was obvious. They went on walks around Hampton holding hands like teenagers, joking and amusing each other. They also vacationed on a private island in the Caribbean, drove across several American states in an old Ford Bronco and attended McCartney’s daughter Stella’s fashion show together.

“They seem to be having a very happy and relaxed time together in paradise. They seem not to have a care in the world,” said a source close to the couple. In 2008, Paul commented on the relationship with just one phrase: “I just like being in love,” he told the reporters.

Shevell was also by his side during the historic Tel Aviv concert on September 26, 2008, including when Paul sang My Love, dedicating it to his late wife Linda.

In May 2011, the couple announced their engagement. Interestingly, the proposal came as a complete surprise to Nancy. And on the 9th of October, McCartney and Shevell got married at the same town hall where the musician’s first wedding took place 42 years ago.

Nancy Shevell’s outfit was designed by Paul’s daughter Stella. His youngest daughter, 7-year-old Beatrice, took part in the wedding as the flower girl. On their way out of the town hall, McCartney and Shevell were greeted by close friends and family, who showered them with pink and white rose petals.

The newlyweds then went to McCartney’s home, where they celebrated with a modest party with a vegetarian menu. Also, at the wedding reception, McCartney presented a special song for his bride. “They had a lovely dance together,” said Paul’s brother McGear. He described the wedding as “Fabulous. Beautiful. It was just lovely and peaceful. Smashing lovely feel. I’m happy for my brother, he’s a lovely brother.”

In all the years since their wedding, the couple have tried to keep their personal lives private. They rarely attend social events, and even less often give interviews in which they talk about their relationship. On his Instagram, Paul only posts an occasional photo of them together on their wedding anniversary or Valentine’s Day.

On February 14, 2022, the musician paid a lovely tribute to his wife for Valentine’s Day. “Swing and sway on Valentine’s Day — Paul ❤️,” the singer captioned a photo of Nancy smiling.

In the autumn of 2022, the two lovebirds celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary. It seems that with Nancy, Paul has found peace in his heart and happiness in his personal life. And the couple have proved with time that their marriage is strong and truly sincere.

We wish Paul and Nancy many more years of happy married life. Do you have a secret to a strong, long-lasting relationship?
