How Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Have Been Happy Together for 24 Years, and They Don’t Discuss Their Relationship With Each Other
Cindy Crawford is one of the most famous models of the 80s and the 90s. Her most recognized charscteristic is the beauty mark above her upper lip that she was even offered to have it removed. Crawford was married to a Hollywood heartbreaker, Richard Gere, but she found true happiness with Rande Gerber. They have been together for 24 years.

By the time she met her future husband, Cindy Crawford was one of the most popular supermodels, she was on magazine covers, podiums, and took part in fashion campaigns.
Rande Gerber was also a model for some time, and then he switched to business. He opened a restaurant that soon turned into a chain of restaurants in the US and Europe.
Cindy and Rande met in 1995 at the wedding of Michael Gruber who was Cindy’s agent at the time. It is interesting that the model was still married to Richard Gere, but for some reason, the actor decided not to attend the party, so Cindy went alone.
Rande Gerber was also alone at the wedding, even though he dated a woman at the time. Later, Crawford said in an interview, “That’s the best time to meet someone because that’s when you’re truly yourselves.” Soon, they became friends.
That same year, Crawford and Gere got divorced. The reason why the family broke was Cindy’s youth. Their age difference is 16 years. Years later, Cindy said, “There wasn’t a good power balance there and that was my fault because I gave all my power away to him. I was also just too young. I was 23 years old and I thought I was an adult because I had some success and money.”
Several months after the divorce, Cindy started dating Gerber, who had also broken up with his girlfriend. They dated for 3 years, and in 1998, they got married.
Even though they were stars, their wedding was really simple. Cindy wore a John Galliano mini lace shift dress (which was bought off-the-rack), carried a casual bouquet of white flowers and rocked effortless beach waves. And Rande was wearing a classic white shirt.
Floral designer Michelle White said in an interview, “It was the simplest wedding I’ve ever done.” There were around 90 closest people that were enjoying a carrot pie for dessert.
The model told, “We got married in the Bahamas in front of our friends and family and it was so special — it was different for my second wedding. We walked each other down the aisle.” After the wedding, the newlyweds changed their everyday clothes for bathing suits and jumped into the pool together.
1 year after the wedding, the famous couple had a son they named Presley. And 2 years later, in 2001, they had a daughter they named Kaia.
It is interesting that Cindy gave birth at home both times. She said that giving birth at home was unusual, but it was an inspiring experience, “I had both my kids at home with a midwife. I felt so strong and I trusted my body.”
Their kids followed in the parents’ footsteps. So, 21-year-old Kaia is one of the most famous models in the world right now. She debuted in 2018, in a Calvin Klein show during the Fashion Week in New York. She was only 16 years old.
Her older brother, Presley, also works as a model sometimes. He debuted on the runway at the age of 16 during the Moschino Cruise show in Los Angeles. And then he was in Carolina Herrera’s spring campaign, in 2019. And that same year, he was on the cover of GQ Style Mexico.
Even though there were rumors about problems in their family, neither Cindy, nor Rande have ever confirmed or discussed these rumors.
But judging from their photos, their love is as strong as ever. In 2021, the supermodel wrote in her Instagram account, “I’m proud of us for the life we have created. Even when things get crazy, when we join forces, we can get through anything. I love you!”
They almost never discuss their relationship with each other. Cindy said that being more emotional, she has to call her husband more often than he calls her.
She said, “He’d be happy to never talk about the relationship again. Rande’s philosophy is, ‘If everything’s good, why talk about it, and if it’s bad, why talk about it?’”
According to Crawford and Gerber, the secret to a happy relationship is friendship. Because they were friends at the beginning, they had a chance to find out who they are as friends. Gerber said, “You have to just keep that friendship and fun in the relationship.”
It’s also important to find time for each other, “We prioritize that,” the model says. “All throughout our marriage, we have made time to just be together, whether it’s a walk on the beach or a weekend away.”
In May, the famous couple celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary. Cindy and Rande regularly post cute family photos on Instagram and leave comments. It’s very nice to see that their love is alive and well almost a quarter of a century later.
