John Legend Says His and Chrissy Teigen’s Kids Initially Felt “a Little Jealous” but Eventually Adjusted to the Arrival of Their New Sibling
Prior to the arrival of their baby Esti, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen expressed concerns about how their children would respond to her. They admitted to having some hesitations.
«We weren’t sure how they would take it,» Legend explained during an interview. «I felt like they were a little jealous when mommy was pregnant.»
The Grammy winner, who shares daughter Luna and son Mile with Teigen became a father again when the model welcomed their second daughter last month.
Legend revealed that their children quickly developed an affectionate bond with their new sibling. «But as soon as Esti arrived, they’re just exploding with love and joy, and they’re so caring and loving toward her,» he sayd. «They want to hold her, they want to kiss her and it’s really exciting.»
The musician mentioned that he and Teigen made a conscious effort to ensure that Luna and Miles did not feel neglected or excluded, saying, «You want to give them enough attention and time and let them know that this new baby isn’t going to take all of our love away from them. But what we found is that it just added more love to the house.»
Over the years, Legend and the author of «Cravings by Chrissy Teigen» have openly discussed their fertility struggles. In 2020, Chrissy became pregnant for the third time, but unfortunately, she experienced complications and lost their son Jack at 20 weeks.
Afterwards, the Utah-born individual turned to IVF and shared in August 2022 that she was pregnant with a rainbow baby.
Via Instagram, the couple announced the birth of their newborn daughter just last month, «She’s here! Esti Maxine Stephens — the house is bustling and our family could not be happier. Daddy sheds nightly tears of joy seeing Luna and Miles so full of love, and I am learning you still need diapers with a c section!? We are in bliss. Thank you for all the love and well wishes — we feel it all!»
