“Just Be Honest and Keep It Simple.” The Story of Gal Gadot and Her Non-Celebrity Husband Who Found Balance Between Family and Career
Gal Gadot is an actual wonder woman: she has a successful career, she plays the role of mother of 3, and she’s been a wife for 13 years. Gadot married Yaron Varsano, who is 10 years older than her, and their marriage is an example of a strong and sincere relationship in Hollywood.
We at CHEERY are going to tell you the love story of the actress and her non-celebrity husband, who have built a happy family thanks to a balance between their relationship, their children, and their jobs.
“No games. Just be honest and keep it simple.”
Gal Gadot and Yaron Varsano met each other at a party of mutual friends in around 2006. The actress says that she was too young to know that he was the one, but Varsano was sure about his decision. It was their second date when Yaron told her he was serious about her, and he wasn’t going to wait for a long time before proposing to her. And it was true: in 2008, they got married. They had the same view of their relationship, “No games. Just be honest and keep it simple.”
Gadot often shares old photos of her and her husband from the time when their relationship just started, and it’s obvious that they are sincere and happy. You can feel it through the screen. And while many Hollywood couples start dating and break up, this marriage is an example of loyalty through the years. Gadot writes about her husband, “You’re my one. My only. My everything.”
Gadot thinks that her husband is the best one in the world, and she really values his support. “I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without him. Family still has to be the first priority.” Every year, they congratulate each other on their wedding anniversary, and in 2020, Yaron wrote on his Instagram page, “12 years have gone by since this day. Life is too short when you’re in love. Happy anniversary, my love, forever my beating heart.”
“It’s the best feeling in the world to create life.”
In 2011, the couple had a daughter Alma. At the time, Gadot was thinking about whether she needed to be an actress. In 2015, she was going to end it with Hollywood, but her husband talked her out of it. “He told me, ‘What kind of role model do you want to be? You love to work, you love to challenge yourself.’” So, Gal decided not to quit and show her daughter that we need to follow our dreams. She eventually got the role of Wonder Woman which made her a star.
In 2017, they had their second daughter Maya, and in 2021 — Daniella. Gadot said that she had always wanted to be a mother, and, if she could have kids every week, she would. “It’s the best feeling in the world to create life. I may play a goddess in Wonder Woman, but I feel like a true goddess after giving birth and being the mother of beautiful daughters.”
Even though Gadot shares a lot with her fans, she tries not to talk much about her daughters. “I want them to be naive and safe, and protected. I share a lot — I believe that if I went through experiences that people can relate to or learn from, great. But as far as my family goes, I’m very protective.”
Her husband helps her a lot. He supports her career — Yaron attends movie premiers with her and other public events. He’s also playing an active part in raising their daughters. “I’m so grateful (and smart and lucky) to have you as the father of my daughters. I couldn’t ask for a better figure in their lives. With you, they’re always loved, understood, and protected. They know they never walk alone.”
“I am a very, very happy woman.”
Due to her tight schedule, Gadot sometimes misses some events in her daughters’ lives. She once was stuck in the airport in London and couldn’t attend Alma’s performance at school. “I spoke to her afterward and asked, ‘How was it?’. She was crying, asking me why I wasn’t there. Then I started to cry, but I was trying not to show Alma that I was crying.”
But, despite being busy, she still manages to find a balance between the big roles in her life. “When you’re on set, you’re like a kite. You can fly so high and try to catch the air, then you go back home to do your main shift as being a mother. That is the thing I do — the juggling between my family life and my acting career.”
The actress tries to spend all of her free time with her husband and children. “I am a very, very happy woman who can hardly wait to come home to my family every time I finish working on a film.”
And, even though there’s no recipe for a happy relationship, the love story of Gal Gadot looks like a fairy tale, where the main ingredient is her partner’s support. “I think that Yaron and I make a really good team. We help each other progress in all areas of life.”
