We at CHEERY are amazed at how different the life paths to glory people have to walk to become stars.

When the girl got interested in music and theater at the age of 9, her parents did everything in their power to invest in her talent. They took her from Pennsylvania to New York for singing and acting classes, and when she was invited to performances, they let her study at home, so as not to interfere with her future career.
Grew up in poverty: Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker has 7 siblings. It was difficult for the parents to provide for such a big family. They would sometimes live without power, and not celebrate Christmas and other holidays because they couldn’t afford it. It was totally normal for Sarah to wear her older siblings’ clothes. She remembers, “It was a stigma thing. I was not the only person receiving free lunch, but you are aware you are different.”
Grew up in wealth: Edward Norton
And here’s another Hollywood star that didn’t know need from childhood. In the 1930s, his grandfather founded a mortgage corporation, which earned enough money for several generations. Lana Del Ray has been attacked by tabloids a lot of times. Allegedly, her father (a millionaire) sponsored his daughter’s entire career, and thanks to his money, she became successful. But according to Lana’s colleagues, it’s not true.
Yes, she was born in Manhattan to a wealthy family. But her parents didn’t support her desire to come to be a singer. She wrote her own songs and looked for ways to show them to the world. And she made her own name, both literally and metaphorically (her real name is Lizzy Grant).
Grew up in poverty: Hilary Swank
The 2-time Oscar-winner Hilary Swank, despite her amazing career, says this about herself, “I’m just a girl from a trailer park who had a dream.” To make her daughter’s dream of becoming an actress come true, her mom dropped everything and went to Hollywood with less than $100 in her pocket. For the first time, they were allowed to stay in an empty house that was for sale. And a couple of months later, she went to an audition and got a part in a film.
Who do you think has better chances for success: someone who was at the right place at the right time, or someone born into a wealthy family?
