What 14 Celebrities Collect, Aside From Golden Award Statuettes

The top eight most collectible items include stamps, coins, and comics. Everyone is after them, young and old, from ordinary people to stars of the highest magnitude. For example, Nicolas Cage is crazy about comic books, while Nicole Kidman is always on the hunt for coins. However, among celebrities, there are also those whose collections are clearly different from the ordinary.

Tilda Swinton is an actress who has never been afraid to experiment creatively. Throughout her career, like a chameleon, she changed her roles and image. To get into a new role, stylists updated Tilda’s haircut, added wrinkles, and even changed her teeth.

At the last Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, the actress admitted that she was really proud of the teeth she had tried on for her roles. They didn’t end up in the trash after filming, instead, they went to Swinton’s personal collection.

Rosie O’Donnell’s Happy Meal toys

Rosie O’Donnell has been actively collecting toys from Happy Meals since the 1980s. She has about 2,500 figurines in her arsenal. Some of them are housed in her office, while the rest are in a specially built-cabinet in her own apartment. According to O’Donnell, the hobby takes her back to her childhood.

One day, the comedian decided to collect all the pooches from the 101 Dalmatians series, so she went to McDonald’s every week. As soon as the fast food outlet learned of O’Donnell’s passion, they immediately sent her the entire collection at once.

Mike Tyson’s pigeons

It’s hard to believe, but Mike Tyson, one of the most fierce boxers, has a passion for pigeons. By his own estimate, the boxer has several thousand pigeons in New York City alone.

In one of his interviews, Tyson said that when he was a child, he faced a bully who wanted to steal pigeons from him. Trying to protect the birds, he realized that he wanted to tie his life to boxing.

Eminem’s cassette tapes

It took Eminem over 10 years to amass a collection of rare hip-hop cassettes. The hobby stems from his childhood when young Eminem couldn’t afford to buy the ones he liked. Together with friends, they bought tapes, duplicated them, swapped them, and so on.

One day, the future rapper made a vow to himself that he would own all the original cassettes he dreamed of having as a child.

Quentin Tarantino took a long road to find the object of his true passion — board games. The iconic American filmmaker first collected lunch boxes, but the hobby proved to be too costly. He then decided to give preference to dolls, but they weren’t much fun because they need to be kept in boxes.

Then Tarantino decided to focus on board games based on TV series. His collection includes unique pieces such as I Dream of Jeannie (1965), The Dukes of Hazzard (1979), and The A-Team (1983).

Dominic Monaghan’s mini zoo

The Lord of the Rings star has been a devoted animal lover since childhood. As a child, he kept various insects in his house, collected frog eggs, and watched spiders in his own garden.

A child’s pastime turned into a conscious hobby. Today the British actor actively shares with fans on social media how he lives in peace and harmony with wild animals — among them, a Mexican beaded lizard, a stag beetle, and even a sloth.

Catherine Deneuve’s chickens

Catherine Deneuve talked about her unusual hobby in an advert for a famous online shopping site in France. As it turned out, the actress’ collection boasts over 500 figurines of chickens in various shapes and sizes and made of different materials, from wood to crystal.

Representatives of the online shop found out that Deneuve bought and sold her chickens via their service and immediately decided to use this fact as a marketing move.

Seth Rogen’s pottery

In 2019, Seth Rogen began collecting vintage ceramics, but his fascination soon developed into something more. The actor started not only collecting but also creating his own pottery, from candle holders to vases. Rogen, as well as sharing his handmade products on social media, also actively sells them at charity auctions.

Who would have thought, but Dave Bautista, known for his role as Drax the Destroyer, has a passion for lunch boxes. Since 2003, the actor has been collecting lunch boxes with various depictions.

In his collection, the actor doesn’t chase after the number of copies but rather their exclusivity. In an interview, he said that he values the lunch boxes that have designs of his favorite childhood shows: cartoons, superheroes, and TV series.

Madonna’s painting gallery

Madonna’s personal collection lives up to her unspoken status as the queen of épatage and luxury. Since 1987, the singer has been buying authentic paintings by renowned artists and gets sheer aesthetic pleasure from doing so.

Her own art gallery includes works by such iconic artists as Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Tamara de Lempicka, and many more. Her collection is said to be worth over $100 million.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s home library

Gwyneth Paltrow is the proud owner of a huge book collection. To organize her home library, the actress even hired a book curator. The specialist helped to harmoniously line up Paltrow’s copies on the shelf, as well as to purchase missing items and intelligently integrate them into the existing collection.

It’s important to note that the actress’ collection is not random. The books are not outside of her sphere of interest (fashion, art, photography, architecture) and correspond to her children’s needs for further development.

Rod Stewart’s trains

The rock star proudly boasts a collection of toy steam trains and model railways. Stuart’s collection is so large that a separate room had to be dedicated to it. The musician gives 110% to his favorite hobby and is truly proud of each and every piece of his railway arsenal.

Interestingly, Rod Stewart is so attached to his collection that he even takes it with him on tour. Sometimes, he rents a separate hotel room for it: “We would tell them in advance and they were really accommodating, taking out the beds and providing fans to improve air circulation and ventilation.”

Jennifer Lopez’s wigs

Jennifer Lopez likes to experiment with her looks. Most of the time it’s her hair that is subjected to changes. There’s no limit to her imagination: from short to long, from blonde to dark.

Frequent hair experimentation is made easy by the enormous collection of natural hairpieces, and she even has a room in her house devoted to it. Apparently, only Lopez has access to the wigs. The collection is neatly lined up on shelves and gets regularly added to.
