Following the death of Nipsey Hussle on March 31, 2019, the world not only mourned his passing, but also rallied to support his longtime girlfriend and mother of his child, Lauren London. The couple welcomed their son Kross in 2016, expanding their blended family to a total of five members, as Hussle also had a daughter named Emani, aged 12, and London had a son named Kameron, aged 11.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight two years later, London opened up about her experience with grief, her children, and her return to acting — stating that it’s important for her sons to see her moving forward with grief and not just curling up in a ball. Kameron Samuel Ari Carter

Lauren London’s eldest son, Kameron Carter, was born on September 9, 2009 and is the result of her past relationship with Lil Wayne — who confirmed the pregnancy during a radio show in LA, just a month before Kam’s birth. At 11 years old, Kameron is Lil Wayne’s third child and already displaying musical talent like his father. He even raps about his childhood and parents on Lil Wayne’s song «Kam» featuring Kam Carter.

Hussle was a significant mentor and father figure for Kameron, and during Hussle’s Celebration of Life service in April 2019, Kameron spoke about a dream where Hussle visited him and gave him a tour of heaven, describing it as «paradise.» According to London, Kameron was a major driving force for her return to work and she stated that he has a slightly better understanding of the grieving process. «We will continue moving on as we had to, as he [Nipsey] would want us to,» she told Entertainment Tonight.

Kross Ermias Asghedom

Kross Ermias Asghedom, born on August 31, 2016, is the first child of both Lauren London and Nipsey Hussle, although they both have children from previous relationships. Kross was named after his father Nipsey’s given name, Ermias. When a photo of Kross was shared on his fourth birthday, fans were amazed at how much he resembled his late father. It remains to be seen whether Kross will inherit his father’s musical talent, but for now, we can just admire his infectious smile!
