13 Stars Honestly Told About Their Appearance Features That We Had Never Noticed Before
At first sight, celebrities look incredibly confident, and their fans think their appearances are flawless. But we need to remember that celebrities are people, just like us, with their own insecurities and problems. Some stars try to fix their appearance flaws, or, at the very least, not draw attention to them, and others talk about the things they don’t like about themselves.
We at CHEERY admire the stars that were brave enough to talk about their imperfections and how they deal with them.
Megan Fox
The star, who many people think looks perfect, is very critical of... the size of her head, which is why she often wears her hair loose or makes voluminous hairstyles. Megan said on her Instagram, "“I never wear my hair up because my head is the size of a tiny edamame bean, but this happened and we’re all okay. Baby steps.”
Kate Hudson
The actress is always honest about her appearance insecurities and how she deals with them. She says, “I can look at a picture of Gisele [Bündchen] all day long and say, ’I’ll never have legs that long or lips that big. “You have to honor who you are.” Besides, she said that when she was at school, she was laughed at because of her ears, so she tried to hide them under her hair.
Cameron Diaz
The star is going to turn 50 soon, and she’s recently said that for a long time, she was the victim of social pressure on women about aging, and she used a lot of rejuvenating products, and it took her quite some time to accept herself and the natural things happening to her body and face.
At the moment, Diaz doesn’t use any beauty products and doesn’t try to look younger than she is, “I literally do nothing. I like never wash my face.”
Selena Gomez
Gomez has always been open about the criticism she hears about herself and said that it was painful when it was about her body. She was insecure when her weight started to change due to health issues, “Some days, I like what I see. Other days I’m like, ’I’m not even going to bother.’”
Lorde
The singer looks quite confident, but comments from the internet made her feel really uncomfortable, “I remember being made aware of my looks and my body in a way that I had never been. I remember all these kids online were like, “She’s got really far-apart eyes”. I remember being like, “Whoa! How did I get all this way without knowing I had far-apart eyes?” she said.
Ed Sheeran
The British singer is very critical of his appearance and he admits that his imperfect body is the result of his bad food preferences, “I was never really happy with my image, and then I realized it was because I was eating fried food every day.” Sheeran recommends being less critical of yourselves and not exhausting yourselves with working out, but just eat good food.
Priyanka Chopra
At the beginning of her career, Chopra had a lot of insecurities, and it was her producer to blame for. She remembers, “Before I became an actor, I met a producer about the possibility of acting. I was a beauty pageant winner at that time, Miss World. And he said that everything was wrong about me.”
But she decided not to change her appearance to match all the beauty standards, and instead, she just accepted herself.
Kesha
It took the singer 4 years to accept her body while she was treating her eating disorder. “I realized being healthy is the most important thing I can do for myself. Now I’m trying to embrace the skin I’m in. It’s difficult sometimes. Every day, I have to look in the mirror and make the choice to be kind to myself. This is who I am — I have to love that”, she said.
Emma Roberts
The star was really insecure over the trait there’s no way to change — being short. “I used to have a complex about being short. But now I love that I’m 5’2. I’m strong, and that feels really good to me”, she said.
Jennifer Lawrence
The star’s confidence also took a hit at the very beginning of her career. She remembers, “I was young. It was just the kind of stuff that actresses have to go through. Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn’t lose a certain amount of weight.” She developed some insecurities, it took her a long time to get rid of.
Jessica Simpson
The star is very demanding of herself, and she thinks that accepting yourself and working on your imperfections is a never-ending process. She says, “I do love my legs, but my favorite physical attribute is my nose, because it’s not perfect. Recently, since I’ve worked out so hard, I’m also loving my stomach — knowing I grew babies in it, and then having to go through a transformation and just owning it.”
Ashley Graham
Even though Graham is the icon of the body positivity movement and an inspiration for millions of plus-size women, she admits that her fight with insecurities is far from over.
“I still have mornings when I wake up and feel fat or I feel my cellulite is really kicking that day. I have to look myself in the mirror, and I take my own advice and I talk to those different parts. I tell myself I am beautiful. I tell myself I am bold and brilliant. I just look at myself and say, ’Slay girl’”, she said.
Sharon Stone
Even though the 64-year-old star still hears good things about her appearance and looks quite confident, she talks about her flaws in an ironic way, “I’m aware that my butt looks like a bag of flapjacks. But I’m not trying to be the best-looking broad in the world.”
