Jennifer Lawrence Took a Short Break to Get Married and Give Birth to Her Child, and Now She’s Returned to Movies as a Producer
The Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence dropped off the radar for some time, but soon returned with renewed vigor. For the last couple of years, the actress met the love of her life, married him, given birth to her first child, and even opened a new company. We would like to tell you about what hardships Jennifer had to deal with, and how marriage and motherhood have changed her views of life.
She left home at 14.
We know Jennifer Lawrence as a simple girl from Kentucky who moved to New York from her family rancho at the age of 14, and who built a successful modeling and movie career almost immediately. At 32, Jennifer has already worked with such famous film directors as Darren Aronofsky, Adam McKay, and David O. Russell.
She won an Oscar on her second attempt.
Lawrence got her first Oscar nomination for her performance in the movie Winter’s Bone in 2011. But the second nomination was successful to her. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in the movie Silver Linings Playbook. After that, she became a very sought-after actress, and almost all of her movies were loved by the audience and critics.
She appeared in the center of scandal.
The role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games rose Jennifer to new heights of fame. The actress became popular not only in the US but also all over the world. But fame had something else in store too. In 2014, Lawrence’s privacy was violated. Some bad people hacked her cloud storage. Jennifer says that this trauma will stay with her till the end of her life.
She dated a fellow actor.
Jennifer’s first real love was Nicholas Hoult. They met on set of the superhero movie X-Men: First Class. Due to their busy schedules, they had an on-and-off relationship for a few years. And after breaking up, Hoult and Lawrence remained friends.
She found a soulmate outside the movie world.
Jennifer met her soulmate, with whom she wanted to form a family, through a common friend in 2018. Her chosen one is art gallerist, Cooke Maroney. Their relationship developed rapidly, and the couple got married in October 2019. “He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet and you’re like you can’t leave. So I wanted to take that offer.”
She didn’t allow the press to come to her wedding.
Even though the press wasn’t allowed at her wedding, it’s known that the bride wore a Dior gown. Among the 150 guests were singer Adele, comedian Amy Schumer, and reality show celebrity Kris Jenner. The event took place at an old mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, which had been designed in 1894 by renowned American architect Richard Morris Hunt.
She had 2 miscarriages before becoming a mother.
Jennifer played the role of a mother in movies many times, but she herself became one only in February 2022. The parents named their son Cy, after American painter Cy Twombly, who is one of Maroney’s favorite artists. According to Jennifer, motherhood made their marriage even stronger, “My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about. I include my husband in that. And then they’re both just, like, out there—walking around, crossing streets.”
In an interview, Lawrence was frank enough to speak about her miscarriages. Jennifer revealed that she had her first miscarriage when she was in her twenties, and she didn’t plan to keep this baby. Her second miscarriage happened while she was filming the movie Don’t Look Up. And this pregnancy was planned.
She returned to movies as a producer after the break.
Pregnancy and childbirth made Jennifer go on hiatus for a short period, but she continued to attend red-carpet events and promote her movies on TV. And now she’s fully returned.
Her first movie after having a son was Causeway, which was filmed for Apple TV. Jennifer’s character returns home after suffering a serious injury while stationed overseas and must confront the family she left behind. This indie drama was produced by Lawrence personally. It became the first big project of her own production company.
