“We Are All Always Beach Body Ready.” How David Hasselhoff’s Daughter Explodes the Fashion Industry

Hayley Hasselhoff is 29 years old, and she has done a lot for the body positivity movement. She’s the daughter of actors David Hasselhoff and Pamela Bach, but she decided not to follow in her parents’ footsteps and became a plus-size model Instead. Today, Hayley encourages other women to accept themselves and their bodies.

At CHEERY, we would like to tell you the story of Hayley Hasselhoff. We will also look back at how she started her career, and try to find out what the secret of her unconditional love to herself and those around her is.

She was born into an acting family.

Hayley’s father is a famous actor David Hasselhoff, who starred in The Baywatch series, and her mother is actress Pamela Bach who also worked in this series. The couple had 2 daughters together and separated in 2006 after 17 years of marriage.

She starred in the series about overweight teenagers.

Hayley Amber Hasselhoff is an internationally famous plus-size model and influencer. At the age of 14, she signed with Ford Models. But this is not Hayley’s only occupation. In 2010, she starred in the ABC series Huge about overweight teenagers. Hayley also presented a fashion segment on the ITV’s show This Morning, aimed at curvy women.

She and her elder sister released a single together.

The divorce of her parents was complicated, but eventually David won sole custody of his 2 daughters. And in 2010, the loving father launched a reality TV show, named The Hasselhoffs. The programme was supposed to launch Hayley and her elder sister Taylor’s band, Bella Vida.

They released their debut single Kiss Kiss Me Bang Bang in 2011, but Hayley’s singing career was interrupted due to modeling and filming in a TV show. However, Hayley is still passionate about music, so she took part in The X Factor: Celebrity in 2019.

She’s the first plus-size model on the cover of Playboy.

And if movies and music are something like hobbies for Hayley, modeling is a serious business for her. She’s become one of the most recognizable personalities of the body positivity movement, and in 2021, she appeared on the cover of German Playboy. It was the first time a glossy magazine cover featured a plus-size model, “In the past I was cautious about doing a photo shoot like this, but I look at my body now and think I want to celebrate every moment of it.”

She had to wear her own lingerie during the shoot because they didn’t have anything in her size available on set.

But not everything went smooth during the Playboy shoot. Hayley had to wear her own lingerie because the magazine didn’t have any clothes in her size on set, “At the end of the day, I’m so used to it. And it’s sad to say that I’m used to coming onto set and sometimes not having the right pieces because of my size.”

Hayley understands that there is still a long way for the fashion world to become inclusive, but she stays optimistic and tries to look at the bright side of life, “To be honest with you, it made me feel more confident and comfortable on the set anyway because I already felt good in these pieces.”

She launched her podcast about mental health.

Hasselhoff wants to be heard, so she launched her own podcast about mental health, called Redefine You. Hayley talked about mental well-being in her blog many times. The conversations with her friends grew into a regular rubric on her Instagram, and later turned into a podcast. Today, Hayley discusses forbidden topics of mental health with invited experts there.

She reunited with her boyfriend after a few months apart.

It’s a known fact that the model has been dating Dominic Farrell for a few years. Dominic is an actor and photographer. During the lockdown, the couple was separated by the ocean. Dominic got stuck in the UK, and Hayley was in USA. But now the lovers are together again.

It seems that Hayley is really happy. She says about her boyfriend, “You truly are everything in my life. I’m so beyond lucky to have you by my side today and everyday. Through my emotional ups and downs you are patient, kind and the most beautiful supporter. I love you baby.”

She gets full support from her celebrity dad.

Hayley grew up in the family of 2 athletic actors. She admits this influenced her views, “It’s hard when you look at your mother or you identify not looking like what you think beauty should look like.” But her parents supported her during each stage of her self-acceptance, “My mom and my dad are just so proud to see how far that I’ve come and how resilient I think that I am.”

Hayley’s father, David Hasselhoff, never misses an opportunity to praise his daughter. His Instagram is full of his daughters’ photos, and his posts express unconditional love for them, “I’m so proud of my daughter! Her hard work and devotion to giving quality pieces to curve girls has paid off! I’m constantly astonished by the art she continues to create. Congratulations my beautiful girl! You are so special!”.

She partners with weight-loss aid.

According to Hayley, health is not about a specific clothing size or number on the scale. She says that size can’t dictate your worth. Hasselhoff believes that self-love and taking care of your body through a healthy lifestyle is the key. These beliefs attracted the attention of a pharmaceutical company. As a result, Hayley became a brand ambassador for a prescription-only weight loss aid.

Her mission is to inspire other women.

With her parents’ love and support, her path to self-acceptance was so much easier, but it still requires a lot of time and effort. Today, the model continues to move forward and achieve her goals, “I hope to inspire women to face their fears of the unknown and to lead a life of purpose in which your body does not define you.”

At a recent fashion show in Miami, Hayley strutted down the runway wearing a swimsuit. And after the show, she wrote on her Instagram, full of inspiration, “We are all always beach body ready. Your body is worthy right here right now to be celebrated without restrictions because of size.”
