Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s Romance Started With an Argument Over a Burger. Since Then, Though They Fight, They Always Make Up

In February 2023, Orlando Bloom revealed in an interview how he and Katy Perry finally managed to learn to understand each other. “We’re in two very different pools. Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands, [but] I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did,” he noted. Despite some differences, the actor and the singer have a lot in common, which allows their union to only get stronger over the years.

Orlando and Katy aren’t shy about expressing their feelings.

Their relationship began with an argument over food. At the 2016 Golden Globe Awards, Orlando Bloom tried to steal a burger right from under Katy Perry’s nose. And that wasn’t the only time the actors failed to find common ground. But the couple isn’t the least bit bothered by this — they successfully overcome all their differences for the sake of their love.

The partners congratulate each other on important dates and express their warm feelings toward each other. When Orlando turned 44, Katy shared a post on her Instagram page with the words “Happiest 44th to my love, brilliant father of my Dove & a shimmering mirror that sees and reflects to me what I can’t yet see... Thank you for always going back down to the mat with me and never tapping out...”

Bloom isn’t shy about declaring his love, either. “Each time we take a trip around the sun and get to celebrate you, I’m reminded that on this journey together and whatever the weather I’m always smiling,” he tells Katy.

Neither of them criticizes their partner’s work

They both occasionally get overwhelmed with emotion, and each of them is always ready to dive head-first into their work. But this only means that they never get bored.

Katy loves dressing up in unusual costumes, and her style has even been described as outrageous and leaning toward theatrical. Orlando, on the other hand, is always ready to take risks on set — whether it’s filming underwater or racing off-road vehicles.

There’s no room for jealousy in their relationship.

Katy happily gets photographed on the red carpet with Miranda Kerr, Bloom’s ex-wife and the mother of his first child. And in January 2023, she presented the supermodel with an award at one of the gala events.

Miranda returned the favor by sharing a story from this meeting on one of her social media pages, for which she used Katy Perry’s hit song as a soundtrack.

Katy and Orlando travel the world together.

The partners always find time to travel together; “my family is always up for an adventure,” once wrote Katy.

For example, Bloom and Perry once delighted their followers with pictures of them in front of the pyramids in Egypt and later told of how they attended a tea ceremony in Kyoto. And in 2022, the couple posted photos taken in New York.

“One time when I went to NYC, I tried to have a hot dog eating contest with myself by seeing how many hot dogs I could eat in one day from different street carts. think I quit around 12. This trip was different,” Perry shared her experience of the trip.

They have an exceptional sense of humor.

They both often post fun photos on social media. For example, in 2021, Bloom congratulated his sweetheart on Mother’s Day by sharing a picture on his Instagram page, in which it looks like he’s holding a mermaid — Perry herself.

Incidentally, a year later, Katy appeared dressed as Ariel from The Little Mermaid on American Idol. Sitting at the jury table in a costume with a tail wasn’t easy, and at one point, the singer fell off her chair. Perry shared footage from the show with her followers, laughing: “Flippin’ your fins you don’t get too far.”

The singer is not above pranking her partner, either. In April 2020, a photo appeared on her Instagram page showing Orlando’s face covered in pink frosting. It turns out, the actor got a face full of cake, the color of which revealed his unborn baby’s gender.

They haven’t let life’s difficulties get them down.

Bloom once posted a video of himself lifting weights with ease. “I broke my back when I was 19 and they said I’d never walk again,” the actor wrote. Since that serious injury, Orlando has seen the inside of a doctor’s office more than once with various fractures sustained after riding a motorbike or filming.

But despite everything, the actor never lost his optimism and always faced new adventures head-on. In one of the articles about him, Bloom was even compared to Pollyanna — the protagonist of a children’s book, who managed to find something positive even in the most difficult situations.

Katy Perry has seen some dark times too. It turns out that the upbeat singer, known for her colorful music videos, has faced depression.

Katy has now learned to cope with her problems. Therapy, meditation and yoga have helped her a lot, as well as the support of her loving partner, which she’s found in Orlando Bloom.

They’re both involved in charity work.

Both Katy and Orlando were named UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors. Katy helped children in Madagascar get a good education, while Orlando visited schools and villages in Nepal, in support of various charity programs.

The actor once shared his experience of meeting a girl from Nigeria who was born without limbs and had lost her family. “What I most admire about Aïsha is her resilience and strength to continue building a future for herself after she endured so much hardship and so many challenges,” Orlando wrote.

And after their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom was born, the parents, along with UNICEF, announced a donation drive to ensure every pregnant woman has access to quality healthcare. According to them, the most valuable gift to a parent is their child’s health.

Katy and Orlando are genuinely proud of each other’s achievements.

The singer tells her followers about new films starring her partner, as was the case with the drama Retaliation, which was released in online cinemas. “I am so proud of my love Orlando Bloom for his epic performance in [this] gritty, dark & thrilling drama,” Katie admitted.

And Orlando never gets tired of thanking fate for allowing him to meet his soulmate. He once shared a photo of them together on the red carpet, captioning it: “Makes all the difference having a partner to enjoy the highs, lows, and everything in between.”
